For Philippine passport holders (Filipinos) who are planning to travel to India, you must first apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization or ETA online prior to your travel. You can visit Indian e-Visa website for more information in this link: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html.

Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is valid for the period of 60 days from the date of first arrival in India. Visa type is e-Visa, Service name is eTOURIST VISA and the number of entries is Double entry. The second entry for eTourist visa will be granted within the eVisa validity period stamped on your passport. You need to apply online minimum of 4 days in advance of the date of arrival with a window of 120 days. For example, if you are applying on the 25th of March then you can select your arrival date from 30th of March to 7th of July.

Requirements for eVisa application online:

  1. Scanned Bio Page of your passport in PDF form showing the Photograph and Details clearly
  2. Jpeg format of your photograph in plain light or white background
  3. Payment of AED193.90 or USD52.79 or PHP2,730.06 (currency based on this date only)

Note: Upon your application for eVisa they require also the complete details of your contact person in India. 

A must documents to bring when travelling to India:

  1. Valid Philippine passport and should have at least six months validity from the date of arrival
  2. Your UAE residence visa page (if residing in the UAE)
  3. Copy of your approved ETA form
  4. Return air ticket
  5. Proof of address in India like: hotel bookings etc.

Note: In India immigration booth you will fill up forms that includes your address where you stay and complete details of the contact person (or friend) in India. 


HERE ARE THE FEW STEPS ON HOW TO APPLY FOR INDIAN eVISA:


1. Apply online at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html. You need to upload your photo and passport first page. For the photo it should be in white background (minimum size of 10 KB and maximum size of 300 KB, in JPEG file. Height and width of your photo must be equal and no borders). For the Passport page it should contain your personal details like name, birth date, passport number, expiration date and so on in PDF format with the minimum size of 10 KB and maximum size of 300 KB.

2. Pay visa fee online. You can use your valid debit or credit card upon paying online. At least 4 days before your expected date of arrival, otherwise your application will not be processed. I paid for the total of AED193.90.

3. Receive eVisa online. e-Visa will be sent to your e-mail after 72 hours. Yes, the result will takes only 72 hours when you apply an Indian eVisa. Mine it took only less than 72 hours. 🙂

4. Fly to India. Print your e-Visa and carry it at the time when you travel to India.

Filipinos with e-Visa is eligible to enter through 25 designated Airports (i.e. Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh,Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Varanasi & Vishakhapatnam) and 5 designated seaports (i.e. Cochin, Goa, Mangalore, Mumbai, Chennai). However, the foreigner can take exit from any of the authorized Immigration Check Posts (ICPs) in India.
