The most recognized leaning tower is at Pisa, but there are in other countries as well and in Tbilisi, they have the leaning tower too. It is a clock tower with a mini puppet theatre. It is located at the historical old town in Tbilisi, just a walking distance from the Republic Square.

The leaning clock tower in Tbilisi

The clock tower was built in the year of 2010 and there are hundreds of tiles in it. It was designed by Rezo Gabriadze a Georgian screenwriter and a puppeteer. He is also a film director, writer, painter and sculptor.

The tower became one of the major attractions in Tbilisi. Above the clock there is an Angel with a hammer that comes out to ring the bell every hour. Below the clock there is a mini puppet theatre inside and every twice a day by noon and by 7pm there is a show. You can see the puppets played the ‘Circle of Life’. You can watch the video at the end of this post.

“But my dream came true. I went back to painting and sculpture, and this time forever. I am grateful to my fate, to the puppets, and my small troupe, rustling softly in dark corners of this old building.” – Rezo Gabriadze
